I'm Freakin' Busy...Beauty on the Fly!

A full time job, packed social calendar, football season and a ton of wonderful friends that also like to chat about how to balance it all and look great has inspired this post…

Here is a list of tips, tricks and products that are the mainstay of a busy, beauty loving gal…

To-Go Bowl/Tray: You know how you usually keep your keys in the same spot so you can grab them and go? Add these items to your “to go” area (I use a little dish that a client made for me in pottery class…awww). If you’re like most gals you’re always changing purses so this really helps.

Nude Lip-liner & Gloss: a nude lip liner can step up any look (even just a bare face and a pair of Raybans) and it will last longer than a simple lipstick or gloss alone.
Compact Mirror
Breath Mints (or gum or my fave, Listerine Strips)
Blotting Papers: only necessary if you get shiny

Do this in the Shower: Moisturize!

I always have Baby Oil in the shower. It’s much faster than taking the 3-5 minutes you don’t have to slather yourself in lotion. Put it on your skin (legs and arms especially) when you have about 1-2 minutes left in the shower.

Triple Agent Face Cream

Finally a facial moisturizer I can use in the morning, night and around my eyes. I have tried a ton of different lotions for my face and Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Moisturizer is by far is my favorite (and it’s also budget friendly). It’s ideal for those who have normal-dry skin and/or sensitive skin. It is unscented and I use it morning and night (moisturizing enough as a night cream) and around my eyes. Does not contain SPF. My only gripe is it can be hard to find…usually available at Target and online.

You think you don’t need it…but you do! Eye Makeup Remover

I like Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. Wash your face and then finish with a q-tip around the eyes to get ALL the eye makeup off. Much gentler and faster than scrubbing your eyes. Makeup removing cloths are great to remove the rest of your makeup quickly but if you have mascara and eyeliner on they will not get the job done alone as quickly.

….And the Miscellaneous Time Savers

Dry Shampoo: freshen up the ‘do that you probably should have washed yesterday. There are alot of choices but I like the budget friendly, no frills Pssst Professional Instant Dry Shampoo.

Red/Coral Shade of Quick Dry Nail Polish: Vital for when you realize you’ve neglected to get a pedicure for a month. Slap this on while you’re doing your hair and voila, your toes don’t look so sad anymore …at least not from afar or peaking out of a peep toe. Careful if you have carpets :-)

Unscented Baby Wipes: Countless uses besides the obvious…(think “spit bath”)

Makeup Brush Clean Express- wipe your brushes on a baby wipe and (lay brushes flat to dry after) for when you need to clean your brushes on the fly…nothing worse than leaving your charcoal shadow on your eye shadow brush from last night’s smokey eye and having it throw a wrench in your makeup application the next morning when you’re just trying to assemble a professional, neutral face…quickly.
Clean Feet in the Sheets!- Don’t deny it…you’re home and all you want to do is fly into bed and the idea of showering lest taking some time to wash your feet before you hit the hay doesn’t seem possible. Swipe a baby wipe along the bottom of your feet (especially if you went without socks) before you get into bed.
